Three different Celtic traditions of fiddling come together in the group Celtic Fiddling Festival. The Washington post called them  “three of the finest folk violinists anywhere”. Celtic Fiddle Festival is made up of Irish fiddler Kevin Burke, Brittainy fiddler Christian Lemaitre, Quebec fiddler André Brunet and French guitarist Nicolas Quemener.

Celebrating their 20th anniversary in 2013, the group performed in the Abbey Bar in a concert presented by the Susquehanna Folk Music Society. Each fiddler takes the stage for a solo set in the first half, playing traditional Celtic pieces from his own tradition. In the second half, the three come together for a rousing set of triple fiddle fireworks.

The Irish Times described them as:  Mesmerizing…Celtic Fiddle Festival ratchets up the temperature as they ricochet through everything from magnificent Québecois tunes to Breton marches to the Irish tradition.

Also, we’ll feature a Center Stage Spotlight on singer/songwriter Nora Jane Struthers, who appeared at last year’s Gettysburg Bluegrass Festival.  She describes her music as “It’s not really bluegrass, it’s not really old time, it’s not folk – it’s all of these things.”  Her new album, Carnival, features her touring band the Party Line. The group of instrumentalists includes Struthers’ longtime collaborator P. J. George, bass,  Joe Overton, clawhammer banjo, Aaron Jonah Lewis, fiddle  and Drew Lawhorn, drums.
